Over the course of two years full-time, students in the 42-credit program will build a breadth of knowledge in emerging public health theories for field application. Students have the freedom to major in Population Health Research, Global Health, Health Policy & Management, or Health Promotion & Disease Prevention. In the final term, a culminating practicum and capstone project is required. Consortium of Eastern Ohio

College of Graduate Studies

The Consortium of Eastern Ohio is formed through a mutual partnership between the University of Akron, Cleveland State University, Ohio University, Northeastern Ohio Medical University, and Youngstown State University. Featuring full CEPH accreditation, the Consortium of Eastern Ohio is geared toward non-traditional adult learners who need flexible education in community health for career advancement while still working full-time. The Consortium operates with a cohort-based model to provide public health coursework on Saturdays via interactive video conferencing from the distance learning centers.

Master of Public Health (MPH)

Consisting of 42 credit hours, the Master of Public Health (MPH) program was built to prepare future global-oriented public health leaders with the knowledge and skills to facilitate improved quality of life throughout the eastern Ohio community and beyond. Using a generalist approach, the curriculum trains graduates to design, implement, and execute programs for guiding health education at the community level. Students will complete coursework in biostatistics, epidemiology, behavioral health, health services administration, environmental health, grant writing, and public health research. A culminating capstone paper will be completed with a faculty preceptor prior to graduation. MPH students can also participate in the Consortium's active Delta Omega Alpha Chi Chapter for public health.

Northwest Ohio Consortium for Public Health

Public Health Studies

The Northwest Ohio Consortium for Public Health is accredited by the CEPH to give joint degrees through the partnership between the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University in accordance with the Ohio Board of Regents. The Consortium's programs are designed for non-traditional adult learners who need scheduling flexibility with evening, weekend, and online coursework. Each year, the program graduates around 50 public health practitioners for pursuing advanced leadership. There are five degrees and six graduate certificates available in Public Health Studies from both of the universities.

Master of Public Health (MPH)

In an environment that celebrates human diversity and respect for freedom of expression, the Master of Public Health (MPH) program leads to a professional degree for graduate students seeking careers bolstering the well-being of our globe's communities. Students are prepared to serve across various disciplines in government agencies, non-profit organizations, hospitals, businesses, and schools of the 21st century. Majors are granted in Environmental and Occupational Health, Health Promotion and Education, Public Health Administration, Public Health Epidemiology, and Public Health Nutrition. Three dual degree programs are also available in medicine, law, and business. For unconditional admissions, graduates must have an accredited bachelor's degree and a cumulative GPA over 2.75.

Master of Public Health

Boasting dual accreditation from the CEPH and CAHME, the Master of Public Health at Ohio State is granted as the college's core professional program for applied practice in public or private population health careers. Students can pursue the degree during a traditional weekday format or the more flexible part-time schedule. In partnership with the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the Master of Public Health program is granted for UC graduate students seeking robust training for starting rewarding careers in improving public health in inner city urban areas. The 42-credit curriculum will include two practice-based field placements.
